NEWS:
At its October meeting, the MIPC Women's
Group started a new bible study, entitled "The Blessings of Friendship".
We will be continuing with this study throughout our fall and winter
meetings. Not only is the study very interesting but promoted many
precious moments of sharing between all the members. Following the
study, we put aside our books and bibles and took out our glue guns and
craft supplies to make wonderful (if lop-sided) Halloween pumpkings out
of cloth, fibrefill, beans and other necessary bits and pieces.
A hilarious time of fellowship was had by all. You wouldn't
believe how difficult it was to make those pumpkins behave!
Please see the pictures page!
At this meeting we discussed what to do with the over $800 raised by
this year's yard sale. No decisions have been made so far, but
many ideas are "in work". Thanks to the Paprocki
family for allowing the sale to take place on their property on Route
25. Without its yard sale money, the Women's Group would not be
able to buy those little extras needed for our church during the year.
News of the November Meeting
We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming the Reverend Kazy
Hinds of the Peconic Campus Mininstry, to our next meeting on November
13th. Reverend Kazy is no stranger to our
congregation, as she has filled in for our own Pastor Rich a couple of
times; and she and her husband Pastor Joe, are personal friends of the
Holmes family. She is coming to talk to us about her student's new
"Shoe Box" mission project. The
Women's group will be helping to put together shoe boxes filled with
essential items that some of her students will be taking to one of the
Indian reservations in the Spring of 2005. All women of the
church are invited to join us at this meeting, which should be very
interesting and informative. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. and
will be held in Fellowship Hall. Tea, coffee and cake will
be served.
Blessings and Peace
